Pairing with Smartphone

The Famalth ONE App for Wear OS connects to your smartwatch using the Google Data Layer API, ensuring seamless and secure communication between your phone and watch.
You don’t need to pair inside the app — pairing happens at the system level through the official Wear OS by Google or Samsung Galaxy Wearable app, depending on your phone type.

Overview

Once paired at the system level:

  • The Famalth SOS Watch App automatically syncs with the Famalth ONE App on your phone.
  • You can send SOS alerts, receive BLE signals, and sync health data directly from your watch.
  • No separate pairing code or manual linking is required inside the Famalth app.

Prerequisites

Before pairing, ensure:

  • Your Famalth ONE App is installed and updated on your smartphone.
  • The Famalth SOS Watch App is installed on your Wear OS smartwatch.
  • Bluetooth is turned ON for both devices.
  • You have a stable internet connection during the initial setup.
  • Your phone and watch are logged in with the same Google Account.

How to Pair Your Watch

To pair your Wear OS smartwatch, download the appropriate companion app based on your phone type:

  • Android phones (Google, OnePlus, etc.): Use Wear OS by Google app.
  • Samsung phones: Use Galaxy Wearable app.

Then follow these steps:

  1. Open the Wear OS by Google or Samsung Galaxy Wearable app on your phone.
  2. Tap Add watch and wait for your smartwatch to appear in the list.
  3. Select your watch and follow the on-screen instructions.
  4. Confirm the unique pairing code shown on both your phone and watch.
  5. Once paired, install the Famalth SOS Watch App from the Play Store on your watch.
  6. Open both apps (on phone and watch) once — they will automatically connect using the Google Data Layer API.
note

Some watches may complete pairing automatically after confirming the code — no further steps inside the Famalth app are needed.

How It Works (Under the Hood)

  • Communication between the Famalth ONE App (phone) and Famalth SOS Watch App (watch) happens through the Google Data Layer API, part of Google Play Services.
  • It securely handles message transfers, file syncing, and emergency triggers — even without direct internet.
  • Once your watch is paired at the OS level, all Famalth data flows automatically when both devices are connected.

Quick Check

On your watch’s home screen in the Famalth SOS Watch App:

  • Green phone icon: Watch is connected to your smartphone.
  • Grey/hidden icon: The system connection is inactive or Bluetooth is off.
