Travel Info

The Travel Info feature allows you to quickly share your current travel details with registered emergency contacts. Use this tool to inform others of your departure point, destination, and vehicle information before or during a trip.

Access Travel Info​

  1. Open The SOS App on your Android device.
  2. Navigate to Location & Tracking > Travel Info.

Upon opening, the app will automatically fetch your current location.

Enter Trip Details​

  1. Current Location

    • The app uses GPS to determine your current position.
    • Verify the displayed address or map marker.

  2. Destination

    • Tap Add Destination.
    • You can either:
      • Select Place: Choose from recent or suggested locations.
      • Enter Manually: Type the full address or landmark name.
    • Once selected, the destination appears in the input field.

  3. Vehicle Number

    • Tap Vehicle Number.
    • Enter your license plate or vehicle identifier (e.g., “MH12AB1234”).
    • Tap Save to confirm.

Double-check spelling when entering the destination or vehicle number to ensure accuracy.

Inform Emergency Contacts​

  1. After filling Current Location, Destination, and Vehicle Number, tap Inform Now.
  2. A preview dialog appears showing:
    • Departure Point (current location).
    • Destination.
    • Vehicle Number.
    • Timestamp of information sharing.
  3. Tap Confirm to send immediately.

Once confirmed, the app sends a notification—including map link and details—to all your registered emergency contacts.

Recipients receive a one-time summary. They cannot track live movement through Travel Info. For continuous updates, use Trip Tracker.

Ensure your device’s Location Services (GPS) and Mobile Data are enabled. Without them, the app cannot fetch or send your location.

FAQs​

Q1: Can I change my destination after tapping “Inform Now”?

No. Once Inform Now is tapped and confirmed, the information is dispatched. To update, return to Travel Info, edit fields, and tap Inform Now again.

Q2: Will my contacts see my vehicle number?

Yes. The Vehicle Number field is included in the notification so contacts know which vehicle you are using.

Q3: Can I use Travel Info without internet?

No. Travel Info requires an active internet connection to send details. If offline, the Inform Now button is disabled until connectivity is restored.
